Madrigals only: We need to be ready to sing at 7:30 p.m. so our call time is now 7:00 p.m. at Olio’s Restaurant. Dress is formal. Make sure you have all of your necessary accessories. Done by 8:00 p.m.
Well, as the title suggests, all classes are off to a good start. We have talented groups this year and I am expecting great things! We now have a date for the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the new Perfroming Arts Center. It will take place on October 24th from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. All students from the performing arts classes will be in attendance.
The returned letter was due last Friday, but no worries if you haven’t returned it as of yet. Please do so soon, though as I’m adding the grade to my gradebook.
Lastly, choir shirt money is due Spetember 30th. Each class has their own price. Please check with your students.
I simply cannot believe we’re at this time of year already. This doesn’t usually happen to me, but I’m seriously wondering where the time went! At any rate, Seniors, you need to make two of the four listed rehearsals below as well as make time for our rehearsal following the official graduation rehearsal on the 14th in order to perform at graduation. We practice AFTER the speeches. Make sure you accommodate the extra time in planning your day! Keep in mind that I also have to rehearse the band during that rehearsal too. The band rehearses before the speeches. All school rehearsals start at 11:00 a.m. Here are the five rehearsal dates:

Please note the start time of 7:30 as opposed to 7:00 p.m. Many students as well as myself are involved with SC Idol and will be almost flying back to the High School for the concert. I promise to keep things moving along!
Well, this certainly has been an interesting year, hasn’t it? I just checked out the High School. There’s no power at all. No one can say when or if power will be restored. We will reschedule for next week, either Wednesday or Thursday depending on Gym availability. We can be happy in one way, this gives us another few rehearsals!
P.S. Help spread the word. Email at the school will be shut down for a while due to the power issue so I may not receive any messages sent that way.
As it turns out, I’ve had a relapse of this stomach plague I’ve had for the last few weeks. All things happen for a reason. I wouldn’t have been able to direct tonight anyway.
Due to my recentillness that has resulted in my absence from school for over a week’s worth of time, and after evaluating the progress of Varsity Chorale since my return, I do not believe that we are prepared to compete at the MSVMA State Choral Festival tonight. Please forgive any inconvenience this may have caused. I always want to ensure a positive learning experience for all of my students. I believe that participating in this Festival as unprepared as we are would do more harm than good. I give my apologies for the short notice. Our Pop Concert is on schedule for the 26th of this month at 7:00 p.m.
